Director’s Blog: Easter Reflection

Chocolate eggs, Easter-egg hunts, bunnies, spring time – there are many things we associate with Easter, however there is one thing that we should never forget while we are busy consuming our body weight in chocolate – the death AND resurrection of Jesus!

The Easter weekend is pivotal in the Good News story. The Easter weekend is where a new covenant is made. The reason we can come directly to God, the Father is because of Jesus and the Cross of Calvary. The death and resurrection of Jesus was God’s plan A. It wasn’t an accident. It was planned and foretold. Jesus willingly went to the cross for us.

The Cross, death and resurrection of Jesus is everything. On Good Friday, we remember the death of Jesus, but Praise God the story didn’t end there; Sunday is coming! On Sunday, we remember that death was defeated, and our King is alive! It’s this incredible news that we long for our clients to hear and know. We are ‘Christians Against Poverty’, not just Christians in name, but Christians in actions and words.

As people see what happened on the cross and stand before Jesus, their eyes are opened to the truth. Our desire is that our clients eyes are opened as we lead them to Jesus. In Mark 15:39, we see that revelation and truth come to those that stand in front of Jesus.

Mark 15:39 And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”

Are you seeking revelation? To know the Truth? To hear from God? Position yourself in front of Jesus. Come to the cross this weekend. Not because of ritual or routine, but because you are a precious and beloved child of God
